Ba Chai and the classical feng shui schools
There are several different feng shui schools which belong to classical feng shui and have the same roots of knowledge and traditions. Although all of them are based on classical feng shui, these schools follow different systems and methods and sometimes are even rivals between them. Each feng shui school applies the Yin and Yang related techniques in different ways as well as they have their own methods and tools which distinguish them from the others.
Ba chai is one of the main classical feng shui school divisions, and it bases its practices on the eight mansions system. This classical feng shui school is also divided in two different schools which are the Major Wandering Stars School and the Minor Wandering Stars School.
All the classical feng shui schools belong to two main ones: the San He School and the San Yuan School. All the feng shui schools and subdivisions come from one of these two major ones and have their roots on them. Depending from which school a practitioner has learnt and acquired his knowledge he will follow the specific kind of techniques and methods which belong to his division.
Another very important feng shui classical school is the Xuan Kong, also known as Mysterious Subtleties or Time and Space. There are four subdivisions which have their roots on this feng shui school: the flying stars school, the 64 hexagrams method school, time and space water method school, and the purple white flying stars school.
Besides the feng shui school of Ba Chai and the Xuan Kong, there are four other main classical schools: the San Yuan Dragon Gate Eight Formation School, the San He Luan Tou or Environmental Appearance and Land Formations School, the San He Shui Fa or Water Methods School and the Qi Men Dun Jia or Mystical Doorways and Magic Armour School.
But, although all these schools might use different techniques or tools,
they all are based on the same traditional and ancient feng shui knowledge
and principles. Therefore, they should all point towards the same kind
of solutions for the environments and cases in which they work.
